About Me

On March 21st, 2010 My daddy left for his last trip away from us. On March 22nd we had to ask him to come home. I had my first seizure that day. One month later I was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms. I have been through a lot in my short life. But I bring so much joy to my mommy and daddy every time I smile.

sights and sounds

We have been wanting to take Jayen to a Suns game before his big day but there weren't many home games that fit into our schedule. The only one we could get to was two days before his big game. But we figured that was probably a good thing too since the sights and sounds would be fresh in his mind.
My sister, Allissa, flew in yesterday and was staying with us for a few days so she was able to go with us too. It was such a relief that we were able to get 4 of the tickets through VetTix. We didn't realize how expensive even the nosebleed seats were. We were one row below the very top but that still wasn't far enough for Jayen when he saw the Suns' mascot come out. We knew he hated mascots, but we didn't realize how much he hated this one!

Not sure why this gorilla is the death of him, but even in the furthest area of the arena Jayen was climbing away, screaming and crying. Oh boy, this was going to be a problem. On Sunday, Jayen will be up close and personal with this gorilla. We tried to encourage him to tell the gorilla bye and if he didn't want him to come close then he could say no thank you. We kept encouraging him to use his words and tell the gorilla he didn't want him to come close. By the end of the game he was a little less scared, but would still flinch every time the gorilla turned our way and make it look like he was making his way our direction; even 100s of feet away.

Even though we were there to prep Jayen and work on getting him ready for his big game, we were so excited for the fun family time it gave us.

It just so happened to also be a special night for the Suns as they were honoring Al McCoy to the Ring of Honor. It was a neat event to witness, but even better other ring of honor members were present. This included Charles Barkley. Matt was pretty excited and was telling Dalan how he was his idol while growing up. (Yeah, yeah, he walked uphill both ways to school too!) Even this mom knew who he was.

Although we couldn't stay for the entire game, since we had a film crew coming in the morning, we had an amazing time! We can't wait for the rest of this weekend. Let the festivities begin!
